Dog restraint in Kemerton XL
I have a 2017 Kemerton XL. I have just got a dog and want to secure it while travelling. I would like to use a harness plugged into the third seat belt but can't find one that fits. Autosleeper dn't seem to have one, Securon, who make the seat belt and fixings, don't have anything like it on their website. How do other members cope?

Not sure if this it what you are after but we plug her into a normal seat belt. Bought from Amazon.

Plenty of restraints available, depending on your seat belt fitting. Here is a multi end type.

Mine is from Pets at Home but didn’t fit my car seat belt clip. They also do just the strap with three different buckles on it. One or other of those has fitted everything so far.

Thank you
Thanks for the replies. The third travel seat in my Kemerton has a seat belt made by Securon and is completely different to the normal car type seat belts for the driver and passenger seats. I did try the normal multi fitting strap but sadly this doesn't work. has anyone any other thoughts?

Re: Dog restraint in Kemerton XL
I use a crate for my 4 year old cocker spaniel. The crate fits through the sliding door on my Duetto behind the two cab seats. It is the last thing into the camper and the first thing out [apart from the dog!]. It does not move although it is not a tight wedge, however I have never had to do an emergency stop fortunately. Whilst on site the crate sits outside and will fold flat although I tend to use it as a table or drying rack at times!

Not having a rear seat strap, I fitted an eye bolt to a secure part of the rear settee and use a Halti double ended lead clipped to it and the dog's harness.

I have the same problem. My usual dog restraint strap works in the driver and passenger seats but not on the other seat. I bought a strap from Pets at Home with 3 attachments thinking one of them would fit but they dont. I'm not sure what to do about this as I have 2 dogs.

We have always had the same problem when muttly travels with us. Having only the two seat belts in front we resorted to wedging his bed between the front seats. Not ideal so maybe a thought for the future the idea of an I bolt into the rear seat frame might be worth looking into.

Lateral thinking required here.
Forget the seat belt, get this type of buckle clip and some half inch polypropylene webbing - or whatever width fits the buckle.
Fix one side of the clip to something secure in the van using, a length of the webbing.
Fix the other side of the clip to the dog's harness with another short length of webbing.
You now have a quick attach and release restraint at minimal cost, which can be easily made to exactly fit your particular requirements. Very similar to the one in the photo of Dbvwt's dog, but fixed to wherever you choose.

Hope this is useful.

Re: Dog restraint in Kemerton XL
Thanks for the idea but I think I will just put one down in the passenger seat well and the other can be strapped into the passenger seat. They are only small. This is what I have just done on return home from site. The one of the seat isn't too happy although why not as he can see out the window but isn't interested in the view . Such a waste of money though having a restrainer with 3 possible connections but none work
