34C in South Hants this afternoon! Think this is the sixth day with temps above 32C! No rain yet, plenty about 30 miles to the east though.

Re: Weather
We've now had 4 hours of continuous storm here at Lady Margaret CAMC site. Thunder never stops, lightning just one flash after another, some directly overhead and rain running down windows like a river some times. Don't think I've ever been in such a storm, the ground even vibrates with the thunder. One wind out awning wrecked early on with the weight of water pooled in it, just a few vans away.

Re: Weather
Thick pea souper this morning, moisture pouring of the trees, not much fun for Tag.
No sign of any thunder storms yet, temperature down to 18 degrees, no birds out, just the odd blackbird looking for worms.
Stay safe out there.

Hot here yesterday, 26c inside the bungalow with all windows open wide. The killer was the 78% energy sapping humidity. Spent the day unsuccessfully trying to stay cool. Some thunder lightening and rain a 9pm, but not much.

My wife purchased a Dyson Cool 12 inch desk fan, (back in April ) it's brilliant really cools the humidity down inside a room very quickly, it's been worth every penny as she has had some uncomfortable days over the past few months.Bad Penny wrote:Hot here yesterday, 26c inside the bungalow with all windows open wide. We finally have some rain, hopefully it chucks it down and fills my 3 water butts and give my straw coloured lawn a much needed drink

Re: Weather
What a strange weekend of weather. Friday we went to Wrest Park near Bedford on our way to an airshow.
We sat under a tree eating our picnic whilst it was raining. Then it dried up and was quite a pleasant afternoon
Saturday it was grey and overcast all day whilst we waited for the airshow and musical evening. The cloud base was so low by the time it should have started they had to cancel all flying. An airshow with no flying is a bit strange. The finale fireworks were interesting. The clouds were lit up by them making the clouds pretty colours.
Today we called at Anglesey Abbey on the way home. It was a lovely summers day, shorts and sandals.
By the time we got towards the wolds coming home there were huge puddles in the road. By the time we got home it was quite cool. No need to water the hanging baskets tonight.
