Warwick XL 2018 faulty BC30
Hi
My Warwick XL 2018 Garmin BC30 reverse camera is faulty. It was working but now the image is unclear/dark/slighty pixelated. I had a look today but cannot find location of the transmitter module that it plugs into. I thought it might be located behind the high level brake light cluster but not sure if I can loosen 2 posidrive screws that hold it in place and pull out. How do I replace the camera part only (eBay has them at approx £80) e.g how do I loop to the elusive transmitter module?
Alternatively can you remove the x4 Torx screws on the back of the camera and replace with the good camera part?
Thanks

Have you checked the Auto Sleeper warranty situation?
I think it is 3 years via your dealer and AS.
FWIW I believe the bluetooth transmitter is contained in the BC30 camera itself.
AS go in via the high level brake light and replace the entire BC30. They told me the tricky part was removing the sealant.

No good point. My fiat automatic only has 2 years warranty on base vehicle hence I thought that applied to habitation items as well. I will check tomorrow with dealer to check warranty status. Thanks.

To illustrate I can tell you that my van is 2 years 11 months old.
Later this week I am getting my Sargent electrics replaced via the AS warranty. Sargent warranty is for only 12 months but AS will cover the cost for 3 years (via an insurance policy they have).
I expect it will be the same situation with Garmin.
I have had a replacement BC30 but the van was about 12 months old at the time so doesn't prove it. You have to go to an AS dealer, they submit claim to AS (via email) and AS send the camera back to the dealer and pay them to fit it. FYI AS seem to approve warranty claims in minutes.

You were correct
I (re) read the warranty statement booklet last night along with original sale bumf and both confirm 3 year warranty on AS conversion regardless of base vehicle The 2 year warranty is for Fiat base vehicle I.e. auto gearbox. On the Peugout base i.e. manual gearbox it has a 3 year base vehicle warranty. Why there is a difference between the two is hard to explain as a normal Fiat Ducato van has a 3 year warranty.
Thanks again.

Continental base vehicles generally carry a two year warranty...
a UK converter will add a third year (backed) warranty
it will also (generally, but may be more) carry a three year conversion warranty...
a Continental converter (like my own van) only carries a two year base and conversion warrenty....But, usually, a ten year water ingress warranty.
Just one of the ingredients thats part of the purchasing process.
