Warwick Duo 2018 Passenger seat
Hi
I have a Warwick Duo 2018. I have noticed that the Duo XL has a swivel passenger seat.
I have found swivels on Ebay, are they any good and safe. Can I fit one myself.

I doubt anyone can answer a question like that about an Ebay listing that you don't link to, but my preferred option would be to ask A/S if one can be fitted and, if so, whether they can supply the part. If not, they may be able to suggest a make/model that will suit your van.

How's that for spooky!
Removed mine yesterday and put it in the for sale section!
Only removed because we weren't using it, works fine, indeed as new.
It's in North Walsham, Norfolk, but I could pack and courier at your expense, see my ad in the for sale section
Fits Boxer and Ducato, probably Relay as well.
There are other items on the ad as well

One minor caveat. The swivel will raise your seat height, which may be a problem if the First Officer is 5’2” or less. But Sportscraft sell a 40mm lower seat base which will compensate. Just been through this exercise with our 2015 Kemerton XL.

Re: Warwick Duo 2018 Passenger seat
We had a swivel fitted to the passenger seat of our 2016 Warwick Duo at Autosleeper’s expense at the time of purchase. The plans in Auto-Sleeper brochure showed the passenger seat facing the rear (and it hasn’t been corrected in the 3 years since).
During handover I asked how the swivel worked and was told the Warwick didn’t have a one. Once I showed the brochure they agreed to fit one foc.
As Fortygreen points out it does raise the height of the seat but we find it useful.

This one is the lowest you can buy, also from Sportscraftfortygreen wrote:One minor caveat. The swivel will raise your seat height, which may be a problem if the First Officer is 5’2” or less. I must admit that I thought they all had swivel as standard. Our Sussex has. If swivelled round though, even I , at 5'11" , can't reach the floor. Legs are long enough, so to be honest it isn't much use.

Re: Warwick Duo 2018 Passenger seat
I have a feeling AS changed the swivel design between 2010 and 2015. Our 2010 Symbol had swivels (FASP?) that look very similar to those in Ian H's photos, with the swivel mechanism concealed between the square black plates, and my 5'2" partner had no trouble with dangling legs. The 2015 Kemerton XL has a heavier-looking design (CTA?) with a visible ring of bright metal plates and I am hazarding a guess that these swivels raise the seat height more than the old design. Paul, the problem I referred to was feet not reaching the cab floor with seat facing forward.

Re: Warwick Duo 2018 Passenger seat
Our Duo didn’t have a swivel plate but we bought one and fitted it fairly simply. It proved to be a two man job to lift the seat but the only other thing to beware of is needing to disconnect the battery before disconnecting/reconnecting the airbag wiring to prevent the ECU getting the wrong message.

Re: Warwick Duo 2018 Passenger seat
I really despair of some of the comments I read on this forum!!
The seat rotator I am selling raises the seat by exactly 30mm, just measured by a vernier.
This means that when the seat is facing forwards then it is higher by 30mm than the driver seat which has no rotator. Any normal person will not notice the difference.
HOWEVER, when the seat is rotated to face aft, the floor aft is some 8" lower than the fwd floor, so how anyone thinks their feet will reach the floor when facing aft, irrespective of their height is beyond belief!!!!!
I think we need more engineers!!
Oh, and Tinwheeler is right re airbag wiring, though I didn't disconnect the battery, just unplugged the connector.

I apologise for making you despair.
I made the comment in case anyone considering a swivel hadn't thought about reaching the floor. I'll not bother again.

Sorry Paul, knowing you to be one of the most helpful, but I still despair!!!Paulmold wrote:I apologise for making you despair.

When working used to to say never state the obvious, but soon found that the obvious wasn't necessarily the obvious to others!!!!

Re: Warwick Duo 2018 Passenger seat
We have a 2014 Duo and AS fitted a swivel at the time of order. The height difference with the driver's seat is tiny and of no concern to us. The dangly-leg problem is however very real and has been easily solved by us carrying a Fiamma plastic step (lives on the floor, under the coffee table when not in use). This step is useful for cleaning the van when on site as well as for resting the feet. The swivelled passenger seat (with the step / stool) is far more comfortable to sit and read on than the rear seats.

Ooooh yes that's true, I never noticed that before.PMC wrote:The plans in Auto-Sleeper brochure showed the passenger seat facing the rear (and it hasn’t been corrected in the 3 years since).

I got one fitted as an extra while the van was getting built, it was £150.
I too find it useful.

Re: Warwick Duo 2018 Passenger seat
I also thought the swivel was standard for both seats. Was included on the Kemerton when purchased from new. No problem reaching the floor when swivelled round to face the rear of the van. Feet rests on the raised step above the heater air vents. Useful for watching TV, or eating, playing games etc., from the tripod standing table. Of course the habitation layout on the Kemerton is different from many other AS vehicles. The sleeping/eating area are at the front of the vehicle. One small problem arises when the driver's seat is swivelled to the rear. Taken to its full turn it will catch on the bench seat cushion. So its best to reduce the movement of the turn or lift/move the bench seat cushion away from the turning driver's seat. Still its not a major problem.Paulmold wrote:I must admit that I thought they all had swivel as standard. Our Sussex has. If swivelled round though, even I , at 5'11" , can't reach the floor.
