AS Symphony 2x water fillers??
Hi all,
We have just purchased a '97 Symphony and seems to be in really good nick for its age. We had "carexamer" out who gave a clean bill of health and recently flew through its MOT with no advisories so fingers crossed!
One odd thing though that was only highlighted when looking through the owners manual was that our van has 2x water fillers (obv owners manual says it only has one). One on the driver side where you would expect and another on the inside just underneath the curtain on the bathroom side at the rear of the van. The guy selling it said it was for the toilet and shower and the outside one was for the drinking water.
I will obviously give this a test myself and see what's what but I have not been able to see anything similar online. The filler itself seems perfectly well fitted so assume some sort of modification over the years but was wondering if this is something that any of the other members have ever encountered and would be able to shed any light??
Thanks in advance all!

Some Symphonys have the toilet flush drawn from the fresh water tank whilst others have the flush tank above the toilet itself filled through the swing out funnel behind the toilet cassette access door. Not heard of one having what you describe.

Hi all,
Thanks to Paul for taking the time to reply and apologies for not following up sooner!
Well we finally went away to Bath (Bath Marina, very nice site) for the weekend in the new van and apart from being kept awake for most of the night by 3000 idiots having an illegal rave many miles away, we had a great time. Nice to have that bit of extra room over our old Devon Venturer!
Anyway I can confirm that our van does indeed have a separate toilet flush tank having had the toilet conk out but other taps all working, so we had to add water to the internal system and cross our fingers that the loo would start working again....
I had previously had a good look under the van with nothing to see so decided that what ever there was must have been housed in the main body. So when we got home today I removed the rear panel to find this:
So I'm guessing this must have been some sort of retrofit job done at some point? Can't really find anything online about anything like this. Seems to hold ~10l which is fine for a couple of days I suppose. Also nice that we can now look to using that additive that helps to keep things less pongy.
Anyway thought it might be of interest to some so here you are :)

Interesting modification. That rear panel is often removed and converted to storage cupboard for hook up cable etc. Obviously you can't do that now but I wonder which set up it originally had.

Looks like circa 10L, therefore a very small tank, seems to have submersible pump.
If not for the loo, makes you wonder what its for? Can you make the pump run now you can see it, if so, what makes it go? Tap(s), toilet flush, shower head/tap??
Also, does it have water in it, looking at the fill point, there seems to be a hose missing, presumably for an overflow?

Sorry, yes it is for the loo. Didn't make my post very clear!
There is a small tube coming out of a small gap by the rear wheel which started leaking when we were filling in which must have been the overflow.
Kind of fun finding various quirks tbh!
