We had this on the Kemerton after being in driving rain on Orkney.  It came in through both side opening windows and is a known problem.  The window has a drain hole in the lower sliding rail but can get blocked with road dirt.  We had them blown through with compressed air and the problem has not yet reoccurred.

There can be another cause, in which the drain holes have been blocked by careless use of the silicon gun during window installation on the Peugeot assembly line in Sevel.

Both scenarios have been documented in various posts on here if you go searching. Hopefully yours is the first case I’ve mentioned, which is easily dealt with.

Tim

It does make you wonder why they bother specifying the sliding window type. You virtually never get a leak around fixed glass panes that are factory fitted. They're an Achilles heel you could do without.

It is worth checking the mating surfaces where the rubber seal meets the opening glass panel . I started to get water pooling inside the runner in heavy rain a couple of years ago but on cleaning the inside mating surface of the glass and the rubber seal all round ( it is possible using fingers or a ruler wrapped in a paper towel ) to get between the open window and fixed portion . No water ingress since and there was a lot of grit and general road filth build up  spoiling the seal.

Not an Achilles Heel at all, we wouldn’t be without them in the heat of a German summer.  Crack both of them open at night and they make for a great through-flow of air across the bed.  They are part of the base vehicle spec, they just need looking after like anything else on the van.

I totally agree. They were perfect for us for just the right amount of ventilation with the dogs and at times when cooking in colder temperatures.
I wonder what van people have had to call them an Achilles Heel scratch head

Well I guess the fact that there've been quite a few threads on here started by folk who've got a damp problem from them not not draining properly, which on a fixed window wouldn't be an issue. And for ventilation at night etc you have roof lights that can be cracked open instead.
