Kingham water pump
We are in Portugal at the moment and the water pump has packed in. We are flying back home soon and thinking about bringing a water pump back with me and fitting it myself. Has anybody ever fitted one and how easy was it to do?_

Re: Kingham water pump
Actual replacing is easy as it’s just 2 wires and a 5 minute job. Fitting in your van may be a different story as access to the tank might be an issue.
Sorry to be negative, hopefully a Kingham owner will be along with news of an easy fix.

Check your tank. You may have access hole with screw in cap on underside otherwise you'll have to drop tank to access from top.

Depends on your skills bobash.
Competent DIYer and I would imagine no problem.

Re: Kingham water pump
If like me at 73, a 4 post ramp would make it easy as otherwise you are lying under the van. Dvbwt might say 5 mins, but I guess he says that without allowing the time to drop the tank and replace. I would say more like 2 hrs and that depends if you do not get dizzy laying down for so long.
But as Paul says, you may be in luck with an access hole.
I also note you do not say what pump you have, I assume as it has packed up it is a submergible one and not a shurflo.

Richard, if you read my post I implied 5 mins was with easy access,
I then added that things might not be so quick on the Kingham

Ok...changing a submersible in ideal conditions is a 5 minute job. If it’s in an Autosleeper then add 2 hours

Ok, don't want to start WW3, I thought that this forum was talking about Autosleepers.
I was going to take you up on 5 mins and ask you to change mine when needed, you can park on my drive, +EHU and I take you to the pub for your trouble.

Re: Kingham water pump
How about we go to the pub, forget about submersibles and discuss Shurflo pumps
Or on a less volatile point how about Brexit and the election!!
See you for a pint at Hayling, bit rough round the edges but I love it down there.
