"Our 2019 kingham pump continuously runs on non hook up, is it the pressure switch or a leak? We have found water on the shelf under the sink, what do you advise ?"

Re: Kingham pump will not stop running
My 2018 van pump requires the pressure dial to be adjusted to a different setting when on 240v vs when on 12v.
Got to admit, it's a pain in the * Inappropriate Word *.

Re: Kingham pump will not stop running
There are two possibilities for the pump running on. Either there’s a leak in the hot and cold plumbing system, or the pressure switch needs adjusting and the water you’ve found under the sink is unrelated and due to a failed waste pipe connection, which is not uncommon.
Try adjusting the pressure switch as that’s the easiest measure to take. If that doesn’t solve it then you’ll need to look for leaks, in which case the pipework nearest to the kitchen tap is the logical place to start. Check any push-fit connections on the plastic hot and cold pipes that feed the kitchen mixer tap by running a finger around both ends of the connection and looking for traces of water on your skin. Then check the screw-in pipe tails on the base of the the tap for tightness. They’ll either be copper pipe or stainless mesh armoured rubber pipework.
If you follow the forum etiquette and introduce yourself as a new member at the link below you may get more responses.

A compromise sweetspot between the settings is usually all that's needed . As for water under sink, probably a leak from pipe joint, AS have been known to cut pipes a bit short so the joint isn't secure.

Thanks for this tip. I was about to start crawling under the Winchcombe in search of why the water pump was continuously running on 12V. Plugged in to 240V - problem solved.

First post.
No introduction, and an abrupt, and dare I say rather rude way of (presumably) seeking advice . . . . or was she just telling us her pump runs continuously?
Hasn't been back on the forum since.
Is it just me being a grumpy, old fashioned git?

We could suggest a fix!, pump begins with an S and ends with an O.

Checking latest membership, out of the latest 50 new members, 17 have posted, 5 straight in with a question and no introduction, the other 12 have all said hello. May be that's not too bad a percentage. I know a lot of people don't like to post for one reason or another and just read for information.

Re: Kingham pump will not stop running
I had a similar experience on our Warwick Duo.
I had disconnected pipes from the pump and removed the filter to check during winterizing.
Upon putting it all back and filling I found the pump would not stop working.
In the end I found it was an air leak around the rubber seals on pipe connections or on the filter seal.
I sprayed them all with silicon lubricator and replaced and hey presto problem resolved !

Re: Kingham pump will not stop running
With you mentioning removing pipes and filter, I'm guessing you have an early Duo like me and don't have a submersible pump but a Shurflo or more likely a Flojet which has a separate filter. Submersible pumps have a separate pressure switch which is what can be adjusted to stop the continuous running.Wigley Woggled wrote:I had a similar experience on our Warwick Duo.

Ah yes I should have mentioned a Warwick Duo 2011 with external or exposed pump and filter!
An engineer from Auto Sleepers praised silicon lubricant as a fix all but it is particularly good on plastic parts and rubber O seals or anything rubbery !!
