Reversing camera
I have a Sussex Duo with reversing camera. Standard accessory. This comes on when selecting reverse gear. Does anybody know how modify wiring to give permanent “on”? With back boxes on the standard rear view mirror is useless and the rear view camera “on” would be more than useful when driving.

Re: Reversing camera
Do you have a little remote with it? If it’s like ours, turn on the camera with the remote when driving and it’ll stay on permanent.

Re: Reversing camera
Apologies if I'm being nonsensical but was your Sussex Duo from new or used? I mention this because our previous used van had the Veba 7 inch mirror monitor that operated as you describe but latterly discovered that the option of constant image whist driving was available if we had been given the remote control on handover. Same as our present van, we have the remote that of course gives the option of continuous monitoring. Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: Reversing camera
It has been reported that if you switch the engine off from reverse with the camera on, it will be on next time you start the engine and then stays on for forward driving.

Re: Reversing camera
I had mine wired up from new to stay on permanently when driving, not linked to the reverse, when reverse gear is selected, I switch it over to that when I need it. It was taken from a live feed under the dashboard.

I can confirm that if you switch the engine off while in reverse gear then the camera will be on and stay on when you start again.

I wish that it worked like that on mine, but it doesn't .inspiredron wrote:PLOUGHLIN wrote:It has been reported that if you switch the engine off from reverse with the camera on, it will be on next time you start the engine and then stays on for forward driving.

Re: Reversing camera
Mine does, according to AS it was an option at sale when new
HOWEVER it is of no use to you when driving forwards, as the rear view is only circa 10 feet.
It really doesn't see beyond that, nor, when you think about it, should it!

In my case it is useful to keep a eye on the Smart Car on a trailer and confirm the tie straps haven't come undone.
