AS VW T4 Trooper (1994) 12v outlet socket

Hi.  Question re: our ‘new’ 1994 AS VW T4 Trooper

on Zig panel there is a 12v outlet which is smaller than a ‘standard’ 12v outlet. 
Searches say it is a DIN socket, but that has pins, or a Hella DIN but it looks to deep for that connector to fit.  

Can anyone advise what I should look for?

In quick reply, select "Host An image" (3 left of Youtube) the "select files" and select the photo from your computer files, then "insert all".

Typically for that year of van it will be a Hella-style socket. In my experience they are very much better than cigar(ette) lighter sockets because the dimensions of the plug are very much more tightly defined. So although it may be a bit annoying to have to buy a different plug than more usually fitted, the results should be more reliable.
