Central locking on Duetto?
I am hoping someone can help! I went to unlock my 2010 Duetto this afternoon but the remote on the key fob did not work, ditto with the spare keys and when I tried manually unlocking the drivers door still would not unlock! I deduced it probably was not the battery in the key fob as I first thought but am stuck!
I plan to ring my friendly repair man tomorrow but meanwhile wondered if anyone had encountered a similar problem?
Fingers crossed.
Sue

Re: Central locking on Duetto?
Not sure why the key in the drivers door would not work.
A flat leisure battery would make the electronic locking inoperative.
To recharge or replace the leisure battery one must enter the vehicle.
AND only use a stand alone charger, and not try to start the engine, to charge the battery cos you may blow the fuses connecting the leisure battery. (Engine start battery is isolated from habitation side with ignition off.)
The built in charger would be severely loaded with the battery flat so best to use a free standing one.
I have gained access to my 2009 rwd Duetto when access to the driver door lock was blocked details if required by pm.

Central locking on Duetto
Many thanks Frederic, I am wondering if it is a flat leisure battery. I will pm you for how to access when I work out how to pm!frederic wrote:Not sure why the key in the drivers door would not work.

Re: Central locking on Duetto?
Hi mine does this.
When the Ford aux battery goes flat which is the one at the front under the drivers seat.
There are two batteries one is the starter and other is the aux.
The drivers door lock is very stiff on Mine when manual unlocking turn key clockwise then anti clock wise if I member correctly.
I charge mine up with internal charger no problems when flat you will find fan on charger i
Under bench seat might kick in for a while when working hard.
Note
autosleeper use the Ford aux varta battery on Mine to run converson.
I have also had mine to into extended sleep so remote key fob does not work after about 12weeks.What can course confusion is the way the system works.
When the aux is flat and you turn on ignition battery balance out and fault goes away for a while.see transit forum for further details
Rekeyfob
Both my key fobs have replaceable c2032 coin cells on my mk7 .
Just done them they are blue key tibby type like my previous smiley face transit

The battery in the Ford key is rechargeable and not replaceable. It charges when in the ignition switch so as said before, if not used for a period of time, will be flat and not work.

Thank you. That explains why there was nothing to indicate a battery! The handbook which might have told me is inside the camper!Peter Brown wrote:The battery in the Ford key is rechargeable and not replaceable. Its not a problem on a camper wit a habitation door but if you park a chassis cab with just two cab doors with the drivers van next to a wall and exit via the passenger door then, if the key battery goes flat, you can't get in!
