Re: Central locking Locking System
Hi Andy and welcome to to the ASO forum.
There was an issue with the MB central locking system around the date (2014) your van was built.
And there has been a lot of discussion on this topic and I would recommend you have a look at;-
https://www.autosleeper-ownersforum.com/t11465-mercedes-based-central-locking-problem?highlight=mercedes+locking
The issue related to the electrical locking interface between the motorhome Hab door and the MB chassis cab doors - with the result that the SAM unit (generally in the passenger door) failing due to an excess current surge whilst been locked. This was overcome by Auto Sleeper fitting a mod which reduced the current surge to an acceptable level.
It is possible that your van may have missed the mod. I would suggest that you give AS a call in the first instance and see if your van has the mod fitted. AS or the supplying dealer) should have a record of all the vans that were modified.
Of course it could be something else - and in which case and as the problem is in the chassis area you will have to go to an MB commercial dealer for a diagnosis to locate the problem.
Hope that helps,
Liam

Re: Central locking Locking System
My Mercedes based 2014 Bourton along with numerous others suffered this fault which affected the passenger and habitation doors not working on the central locking, this problem was addressed by Autosleepers doing a wiring fix and then the vehicles had to go to a Mercedes dealer to ave a replacement SAM unit fitted which at the time Autosleepers paid for thank goodness as my dealer told me this is a £400 unit, I know at the time all the Mercedes based models with the face lifted cab suffered this fate, as Liam has said contact Autosleepers to see if yours has had the modification, and also the dealer who sold you the van.

We have a 2014 Burford on MB chassis which we've had from new. We also experienced problems with the central locking system. The van was returned to the AS dealer (Derby) who resolved the problem. No problems since that time.

Re: Central locking Locking System
Hi Andrewlowe, as has been stated this is a central locking module fault that has been damaged and requires changing. Your dealer should be able to do this, requires a loom modification (Auto Sleeper) and the main Mercedes dealer to replace the module. Please contact me if I can be of any help, Mark.
