Thanks for the link, as i suspected i could be opening a whole can of worms. I have a early 90's T4 with need of welding around the window screen as well as wheel arches cab steps etc. Might be simpler to buy a latter van in better condition and swap the interior over and buy a pop top kit.

One of my neighbours has (or had!) an old T4. It passed my house a few days ago on the back of flatbed truck so whether it's broke down or gone to the scrapyard in the sky, i don't know yet. They've owned it a few years though.andy156 wrote:Thanks for the link, as i suspected i could be opening a whole can of worms. The guy who did that roof removal, it's worth noting he had the benefit of dry storage in a barn giving him ample space in which to do that sort of job and irrespective of weather too.

Re: Hi top removal and refitting?
I know of someone who had a firm to do their high top, the glass fibre top nearest the windscreen was cut out so enabled the rust to be cleaned and welded with chemical metal, then rebuilt. might be worth doing in your case, better the devil you know than the one you don`t.
