Could someone tell me or point me to a thread that details how to best remove the fabric covered box that houses the aerial socket and 12v plug on a 2004 AS Symbol (the one behind the seat on the sliding door just above head height when seated – not sure of it’s official name).

I've just taken the front off mine and put a TV bracket in the space. Are you intending to take the whole thing off?

Nora

Hi Nora, yes I was wanting to take the whole thing off to see what it looks like underneath before deciding what to do about TV brackets.

I was told by the dealer it was held on by six screws, but I have little faith in much of what he said, I also can't feel any screws through the backing.

I have seen pictures of them removed and from what I could make out it looked pretty good underneath, just want to get it off with no/minimum damage.

i seem to remember when I took mine off, the 6 screw heads where in the wardrobe you will need matching surface boxes for the 2 sockets.
put matchsticks and a bit of polish in the screw holes fit a tv bracket
and jobs done. up!

Thanks, well I've found three anyway (with cup washers) and the bottom of the box has become loose. Need to find the other three later when it's not so cold.

I took mine off a couple of years ago and can't remember any difficulty. Once I got the box off, I cut two square holes in the wall to fit the original back boxes, arranged so the little wooden box (the one covered with carpet inside the wardrobe wall) would cover the backs of the back boxes. I then fitted a flat screen TV wall bracket. This was all on my 2001 Symbol - your later Symbol may differ.

I would say it sounds the same. Cold and a little pushed for time this afternoon, but what your suggesting is exactly what I'm trying to achieve. Should have it sorted mid week with any luck.

Thanks
