Re: Weather
Weather forecasters must be on some kind of substances right now
I watched both the BBC national version and the local one from the other side ( that's STV not the ouija board ) and they both said it would be dry and sunny here until late this afternoon. Even our home weather station is saying it's sunny.
Well the rain has been bouncing down non-stop so we're now drying out from our morning walk. On the plus side, it's too wet for midges

My lad over in Resipol confirms the midge are out in biblical proportions this month. He says no campers to feed on this season.BobK wrote:I've been working outside most evenings, and again I've noticed, as on previous years, we DONT get any midges, yet ten or twenty miles further west into the Trossachs/Loch Lomond area, they go mental. Can they create a Midgie emoticon !!
Really turned out hot now, apart from a nice cool coastal breeze if your on the cliff walk.

What amazes me Tony, is that they can watch it coming on the radar these days!!Askit wrote:Weather forecasters must be on some kind of substances right now

I could understand them getting it wrong at times when they had to feel the seaweed on the back of the bog door whilst doing their ablutions.
After all, not everyone can multi task!!

My problem now is I don't know if the rain we've got is last night's which is late or tonight's which is early. And......and..who got the morning sunshine we were promised by the weather forecasters. I feel robbed

Bit dull here. Yesterday was warm but dull. Forecast is for temps around 30, certainly no sign of that at moment.

Lovely bright crisp morning here. The sparrow squadron are in full song in the bird bath and fountain. They will be back when its running at half ten.
A HGV size bumble bee has just flown in the dinning room and back out. Is that a sign of it being warmer later.
Not much planned after I have walked muttly. Management is off to her mates for lunch so gone until late. Maybe some workshop time.

Re: Weather
Another hot day here at top corner of Lincolnshire. After having a go at the council about bins not being emptied again. They started half way up the street and ignored the bottom end including ours yesterday. We pay extra for the garden bin and I want what we pay for.
The bin truck arrived half an hour later. All the bins were mixed up or left in the road. I found ours three doors down.
After that excitement I sorted the solar fountain. The pump was getting slower again. As usual it was full of sludge. Washed the filters and changed the water Now it’s back to a six inch high fountain and a nice trickle of water for our resident blackbird to sit under. It was cooler in the workshop being in the shade so I had a bit of thinking time. My back is better but I don’t want to tempt fate.
It looks like the events we were going to July and August are going ahead in a different format allowing for safe distance rules. Not sure if we will stay overnight but if the weather keeps this up it will be two nice days out using the Rienza rather than public facilities.

Re: Weather
Sat in this afternoon and registered the van sale online with DVLA, due £225 refund. Rang Green Flag to cancel cover, due a £92.50 refund. Rang CMC insurance to cancel policy, which was due to renew in 3 months time. No refund due as the balance is eaten by their cancellation charge. Why are insurance companies allowed to get away with such practices? Pro rata that was about £60. If Green Flag can refund £90 or so, surely Devitt can cough up £60 or so?

Re: Weather
Another lovely morning here. Not too warm yet but it looks like it might be a shorts day. I have just sat by the door watching our resident male blackbird eating its breakfast.
He ran under the bush and brought a snail onto the decking and set about bashing it on the decking before running off up the garden with it. He will be back in the fountain once the sun gets over the roof at half ten.
Nothing planned for today unless management has a secret mission she hasnt told me about that will be my fault for forgetting.

Re: Weather
Looks like a gorgeous day here too, not a cloud in the sky.
I'm in the middle of organising the delivery of our new car, but apparently the dealer is finding it hard to get a driver as demand is high and availability low after lockdown.
I also have to quiz our surveyor about some issues he's mentioned in the survey of the house we're buying. I mean why say 'some window frames have rot in them and require repair' and not say which windows and how much work, or indeed suggesting a couple of local sources for repair. NB it's a listed building and plastic windows are not an option.

Re: Weather
20°c outside right now at 9am so I guess it's going to get pretty hot. Don't forget the sunscreen and, if like me you have been socially distanced from your hair, wear a hat........especially if you go out
With all this good weather we're in real danger of running out of charcoal

Typical. Sell the van, including the spare gas cylinder. Now have a Cadac but no gas to run it with.

No worries about BBQs today, absolutely pouring down but it's 20°c outside so at least it's warm rain

Yesterday 28c and humidity was horrendous and sapped all energy, followed by rain, thunder and lightening last night. Today is overcast and rather dull. but still showing 25c at the moment.

Yet another hot, humid and sunny day here with no sign of rain or thunder. Thank goodness it is set to get cooler for a bit from tomorrow. One day when I am quite glad we are at home and not in the van on a sun-baked field !

It's been overcast since dawn today with splashes of rain, but still warm and humid. Looks like tomorrow the max temp drops by 8 degrees, mind today it's down 6 degrees on yesterday.
