We've got greenfinches visiting our garden for the first time in years, it seems they were hit by a virus that decimated their numbers. Fine sunny morning, no thunderstorms yet but we might see them yet.

Where has the sun gone? Now we have rain, rain and more rain, here on the Welsh riviera. Oh! also thunder and lightning.

Pretty vile here too, but the bbq is under cover so it's steak and feta salad today, with baked bananas and toasted marshmallows for afters.

Another forum member from Devon/Cornwall area (Paul) mentioned that virus with the GFs last year, our goldies numbers are down on previous years.
Looking at the forecast and it looks like we might just get the tail end of the low pressure.
Have a nice day

Light rain here at moment but forecast looks dreadful. Weekly trip to Lidl this morning, need to get back before those downpours arrive.

Used to live on Bute Kaspian, mind. Only re-located down here to look after Dad, usually it's drier here without the midge.
Thick fog overnight has left a heavy moisture coating on everything.

I know Boaby, this year has been exceptional weather wise around here. Saying that I may have ruined it because it rained overnight and is overcast but dry this morning! Think my planter floated out the front gates overnight and is probably half way to Ayr now....

Saw a forecast yesterday that said the east coast will be warming up over the next few days as the wind swings round from east to westerly. Boaby Poppins hugegrins

Started to warm up here now Andy, clouds are breaking up nicely to give clear blue sky's.
Anyway back to the slats on the bench.  My son up in Resipol confirms the weather been good for long periods, only the MIDGE are bad Kaspian, they chew me up big time, not enough sprit in the blood.

Still dull over this away, it looked like it was brightening but soon went back to wall to wall grey cotton wool. Mind it hasn't rained for a couple of hours which is an improvement.

After a very warm and sunny day the skies grew dark and foreboding. Rain seemed inevitable so it was no shock when, at 5pm, it started and lasted.........5 minutes. Back to sunshine again  shrugg

Clear blue sky. Mild with a light breeze, cracking walk along Sewerby Coast walk with Tag, lots of sand Martins and swifts about.
I feel a BBQ coming on later, I'm well stocked up with San Miquel too.   BBQ

Not sure what happened with our weather forecasters. They all said we would get heavy rain overnight, well we did. They all said it would clear the west of Scotland early this morning, it hasn't  tap_fingers  Still very warm though, might get the washing out yet  shrugg

It was a nice day here if a little chilly until about seven just after I watered the hanging baskets. At that point it poured down followed by large hailstones. Managements comment about me not watering the hanging baskets at tea time was not a good idea.

I've been working outside most evenings, and again I've noticed, as on previous years, we DONT get any midges, yet ten or twenty miles further west into the Trossachs/Loch Lomond area, they go mental. frustrating      Can they create a Midgie emoticon !!
