Re: Weather
The forecasters (and the websites) keep saying there is a light breeze down here of around 12 to 15 mph.
I haven't got my anemometer handy but it's been up around 40 to 50 mph theses last few days.
It's blowing just as bad at the moment as we set off for our 25 mile bike ride.
The main problem is that it's behind us going out and against us when we're heading home and we're tiring.
And before anyone asks; no we can't do it t'other way round.

Re: Weather
Phew, just got back in and did indeed have a headwind for the last 13 miles!
However, it was lovely and sunny and we ate our picnic lunch on an old stone bridge looking out over the wildlife common.
Great to be out in it,
stay safe whatever you're doing everyone.

A bit of slightly late Buddleia pruning in the back garden. Got the garden chairs out of the garage to join their table and sat in the sun discussing houses with Mrs SDA. Older dog driving us nuts with random barking and not being able to stand up.He's a lovely boy still but he's getting to be very hard work.

Just the odd transatlantic set of con trails heading ESE, usually for Heathrow, but the constant stream climbing out of Ringway and heading south has turned to hardly a trickle. I haven't seen an RAF Shawbury based training helicopter for weeks, though the helimed is still about.

It's 10 am ! What are you going to do for the rest of the day ? Shame you're in Brid; lots of things to do here for someone with your energy.
Lovely sunshine here but a colder wind than usual.

Pointing?
We need Boab over here.
I've got to block an entry to a wasp nest that was active last year, seal around a waste pipe from when our kitchen was installed nearly ten years ago, fill in a weathered bit under the garage window, replace weathered flashing round the base of a gutter downpipe and all before the mix goes off.

Re: Weather
I'm in the same boat, my wife wants me to renovate a whole house. It needs new timbers to replace rotting wood and some of the slates on the roof have become loose.
Ho hum, the birds will just have to put up with it until I can get stuff to sort it

Re: Weather
Bright, still morning. A Sainsburys van has just delivered to a neighbour.
Yesterday whilst 'exercising' I met my decorator friend and we chatted across the street. He can't work as all his supply shops are shut and he can't do the two rooms at home that his Mrs has been nagging about for ages either.
Mind you, he must've been doing OK beforehand as he's got a sign written one of these as his work van https://www.ms-rt.com/model/ms-rt-transit-custom/

Re: Weather
Lovely bright sunny morning here but there's a cold edge to the breeze. Just heading out for the repeat prescription and I may (with much guilt) buy a newspaper on the way. We're planning to get out for a bit of a walk later, so hopefully it will stay dry. We're getting a bit stir crazy, can't imagine how difficult is for families with young kids.

Sunshine and clouds first thing this morning, much cooler and no blue sky to be seen now, first time for several days that we haven't got clear blue sky. Last two fence panels for paint. Will have to move inside then and get that spare room done.

Re: Weather
Like you Paul I made a start on treating the fence panels. I managed the ones you can see from the kitchen windows and the workshop front. My joints started to protest at that point so I decided to finish it today. Looks like that can wait. It’s cold and windy today, not good for creaky joints. Also the rotten panel won’t be replaced until DIY places re-open. Typically that’s the only one between the shed and the workshop you can see.
We have to go to Lidle after lunch. I dont look forward to queuing in this weather. They were all queuing on the windy side earlier when I walked mutely.
