Kemerton water filler size.
Hi All, I'm looking to get a filler cap with a hose connector on it to save holding the hose when fresh water filling. There are several types about but despite taking copious measurements I can't convince myself which will fit. Has anyone got such a thing and if so would you tell me which one to get?
Van is a Kemerton XL with a Fiamma filler.
Cheers

Just been looking at them on eBay. You're right, it's very confusing, what with internal measurements, internal measurements and two or three lugs etc. Sorry I can't help.

Have you a Whale input? I use mine when I get fed up holding the hose. Never let me down yet.

I'm not sure of the sizes but I bought mine from DKN:

Thanks for your help everyone .Never used the Whale filler. Can you use it when filling from a tap? I thought it was just for filling from a container.
Roger's link looks like the right one but unfortunately it's unavailable. I'll try and find it elsewhere

Not sure about all types of Whale fillers, someone will be along soon.
Mine clips into the socket on the side of the van, then connect to tap and bingo you just leave it in place, assuming you have a dedicated tap, is stops when the tank is full and kicks in again when topping up is needed, I do find you may have to adjust the pressure a bit if the supply is to powerful and you get a clicking noise.

I put a large tie wrap onto an 18” length of hose with a Hozelock connector.
The tie wrap has a small ‘tail’ - once this goes into the filler, the hose naturally turns about 90 degrees and is held in place during filling up.

Tie sounds a nice cheap option. Seeing as the Fiamma type filler seems to be out of stock everywhere will give it a go Will have to check out the Whale filler too.

My van is a 2017 like yours, and, it came from AS with 2 attachments for the whale connector.BazJools wrote:Thanks for your help everyone .Never used the Whale filler. Can you use it when filling from a tap? I thought it was just for filling from a container.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) a short filler hose with a submersible pump on it's end to put in a container and suck the water up
and
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]) a long filler hose pipe that connects to a tap and switches off when the tank is full.
I mention this because it seems like you have [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and Richard has [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

Re: Kemerton water filler size.
We can fill our (2015) Kemerton using the Whale filler hose attached to a tap. You have to remember to switch on the 12V supply while filling. This operates a solenoid valve in the filler attachment and allows water into the fresh water tank. We confess it works better than expected but we took the option to have an additional conventional filler inlet fitted having heard of problems with the Whale.

I remember now, I have also got [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] the short hose, I put it in the loft when we got the van home as I gave up containers when we sold the caravan.

Re: Kemerton water filler size.
Don's post spurred me into looking at the stuff I'd put away when we got the van thinking I did not need it .
Appears we've got a Truma Ultraflow Waterline filler as well as the ordinary one .Got a nice new blue hose with connector and pressure reducer. We're away for a few days this week so will check it out.
My only concern is that there is a plastic elbow where the pipe enters the van and having experienced AS plumbing skills do not want to end up filling the van up
It's surprising what you find out when you read the handbook carefully!

You're quite right Kaspian, you did, and I often recall your words when I fill up using the Whale hose! Nevertheless I'm glad to have the conventional filler as a fallback - we have used it when the Whale hose hasn't been long enough!
I did take your advice regarding the microwave shelf fixings though, and will be strengthening it with the newly procured modesty blocks.
