Hi Dave.
Should forget the Vanco tyres if the sidewalls are all cracked after 6 years. Yes time wise its a good idea to fit new tyres but how long have your tyres been breaking down. I had Kumho 8 ply commercial tyres fitted to my van 2 years ago they where £80 each and they seem to be really good tyres. The mileage most vans do, we tend not to wear the tread out, its the time they spend stood that does them in.

Re: Autosleeper Duetto Tyres.
Funny we had that in the past year in our 2005 Duetto. We paid roughly £518 for 4 Vanco Continental. Although we had 2 one month 2 the next but after a shredded tyre on the M25 and witing for RAC etc as not in a suitable place to change it ourselves.
We decided to stick with the original make due to the weight of the van etc and we were average about 12000 miles per year away in our van.

My 1998 Duetto had a similar problem when I bought it in August 2010. The size is different 195R14C. Thats equivalent to 195.80.14C. I changed them this time last year for Avon tyres at approx £62 each. I am very pleased with them, they are made in the UK and have a good writeup.

Cannot believe it!! Just checked Tyreshopper where I bought mine last year and Avon have gone up drastically. In your size now £99.40 each but that is fully fitted. They also have Tigar and Westlake tyres £78.50 fully fitted. Believe there is a 10% deduction for buying 4.

Re: Autosleeper Duetto Tyres.
Firstly irrespective of tread on a tyre it is suggested that motorhome tyres are replaced every 4/5 years (depends who tells you)
I got reasonable life out of Vancos on the Executive but Ford had fitted Hankooks from new on the Windsor and they are wearing well. I did consider the van was now 4 but our garage did a good check on the walls for me at MOT time and suggested I wait another 12 months.

Re Tyres - Duetto
Before buying the Duetto we ran a Talbot Express Camelot and did over 50,000 miles in it. The only tyres we ever used were Tigar and they performed superbly - even going over the Pyrennes in a snowstorm! When the Duetto's need replacing I'll revert to Tigars again.

Re: Autosleeper Duetto Tyres.
Strange that as we had to change ours on our Duetto (2005) late last year.
We bought our tap from Spinney. It wasnt cheap (£14.95 ?) but better than the tape we had wrapped round and used as a running repair. Like you drained all but forgot to leave the bathroom sink tap open. Think we had managed with the tape longer than we care to admit.

One of the testers at MMM magazine has HankookRA08s on his own rearwheel drive Ford MH and swears by them, excellent grip he says.
