Sounds ominous! I hope you haven't got a problem with the new van.

Well I have always thought it was a pattern in the woodwork as it didnt look or feel damp, but Liz always had this idea it was damp.
Yesterday we were at AS Willersey and she was chatting to Mark who immediately looked at it and declared it in need of replacement.
The reason I asked if anyone had a van there now is They have just finished doing a Warwick Duo and its build number was one down from ours.

Not good in a van conversion Roli! Is it damp from using the shower or a leak from outside? I honestly feel for you having problems with damp in a nearly new van conversion.
Id like to say it was us who had our van in getting the bathroom wall replaced but I grudge giving them the £3000+ to repair what should have been built properly in the first place! No doubt Mark and his team will sort it as they seem to get enough practise....Hope you get it fixed soon.

When you say the woodwork, is that around the door on the shower side or by the kitchen? Have you also been using the shower?roli wrote:I think its a batch with a flaw in and its under warranty anyway
I am sure many of us on here would find it a help to see if we have a similar problem.
Thanks

Could you explain further, where exactly the damp appeared. Having a Warwick Duo myself of a similar age to yours, it is worrying especially as you think that a batch has been affected.

If you look in the bathroom Hubert is the wall facing you a single palish brown or is there not too darker patches randomly spread around the wall?
Its a board defect rather than damp. Mark at AS did not consider this to be an urgent job and said we should continue using the van until our mutually agreed date arrived to have the work done.

Thank you Roger, I am sure your reply will help us all with a Duo to see if we are in the same situation.

Re: Warwick Duo Bathroom Walls
First of all Roger, I m glad to hear that Mark is going to sort your problem out soon. He is the best. We don’t know what we would have done without his help during the first two years of our Broadway ownershiip, and I am sure we will need him in the future, though we are now well out of warranty!
Secondly and sorry to digress, but while looking at this thread, my thoughts keep going back to what Caspian said earlier. I was trying hard not to get involved, however here goes!
Caspian said: Id like to say it was us who had our van in getting the bathroom wall replaced but I grudge giving them the £3000+ to repair what should have been built properly in the first place!
I do remember you having repair issues a while back, but if I have read your thread correctly you paid out over £3000 for recent work at AS on a 2014 van. Ours too is a 2014 model, so I guess it must have been out of warranty when you discovered the issue?
As your van was probably only just out of the warranty period and as you say, and I agree, it should have been built properly in the first place, the question I would like to ask you is, did you get any understanding from Mark regarding the newness of your van, and if so, did AS consider compensating you in anyway for some of the cost of the work required or to even cover the inconvenience?
I can’t help it, but I am stunned at the £3000+ wall repair cost on a fairly new and originally expensive van. You must have been horrified.
If I have got this all wrong then please forgive me and put me right!
Pete
