Hi Tomthumb - I have a 1999 Duetto and it was fitted with a Fiama T45 awning by the previous owner. It's a doddle to set up, use & stow.
Regards

As others have suggested a Fiamma T45 is very handy, gives you an area outside to sit and eat under as well as give you shade from the sun on hot days and shelter from showers etc up!

Hi
Depends upon what you intend to use it for, and the limited storage space you have in the Duetto . When we had a Duetto, it had the Fiamma T45 which was great in fine weather, and short stays, but for longer stays, when we needed to store our bikes ,BBQs etc we used a lightweight nylon Dome Tent from Milletts. It fitted nicely under the bed area, and easily erected

Ebay is full of Fiamma awning addons, as most people find them too heavy, and too bulky.

Give it careful thought, as they are not cheap. up!

Autosleeper Duetto 1994 Awning Empty Autosleeper awning for Duetto

Have you considered a driveaway awning from the Apache range, all the poles come in spring loaded pre-connected sets and it can be put up in around 20minutes. They come in 2 heights and there is a connection flap at the back of the awning which fits into the gutter using a 'J' insert if necessary. Ours could be dismantled into sections so that it was easier to store and carry. I had a second side door panel added to give more flexibility when on site and it also made handling easier still.
Not sure if they're still available though.
I know the Fiamma wind-outs are easier to deploy but a driveaway gives you a bit more space day and night and keeps you pitch.
Just my humble opinion.
There are other posts elsewhere suggesting 'tunnel' type tents (Kyham ?) but I've had no experience of them.

I looked for a long time for an awning to suit our Symphony and while there are several 'quick erect' ones by Khyam, Outdoor Revolution etc, they all seem fine for coachbuilts with a caravan sized habitation door but the tunnels are not wide enough for the sliding door of van conversions without ripping into the side of the tunnel. I have noticed one in the the Towsure catalogue which claims it is fine for sliding doors but I have yet to see one of those. I gave up and use either a utility tent, the Outdoor Revolution Outhouse XL (seen in my avatar photo) or a small dome tent depending on the length of our trip. We can chuck the chairs, water containers etc in there and leave on site when out for day. Both take literally a few minutes to erect.
