Duetto leisure battery
I am wanting to connect an inverter to the leisure battery on my 2009 mark 7 Duetto but I find two batteries under the driver seat. Any one know if the front is the leisure battery ?

Re: Duetto leisure battery
If you look in the manual you will find that one is the starter battery and the other is what Ford describe as an Auxiliary Battery (Alarm, Cab Radio, EMU etc). Neither of these is your Leisure Battery, unless AS have cheated and decided to use Aux Battery. Leisure Batteries on the Mk7 Chassis are normally located under a habitation seat
If you are wanting (Ford) Transit info, two good sources-
Ford Etis Web Site - put the reg or vehicle number in and it will give you all details of your vehicle
Ford Transit Forum (Mk 7 Section) Brilliant source of general info

Re: Duetto leisure battery
I had a 2008 MK7 Transit based Duetto and I can assure you that the front battery is the leisure battery (or what AS would call a habitation battery).
The full story is a little more complex as follows.
1) The rear battery starts the vehicle engine and does not much else.
2) The front battery supplies current for almost all other services (radio, parking lights, door locks etc.). It is this second battery that fulfils the role of being the leisure, or habitation battery. It also means that you can get some rather odd 'faults' on a MK7 if the 'leisure' battery becomes discharged / faulty / at the end of its life.
It's the front battery, usually a Varta 90 a/h model, that you need to connect the inverter to.
