We have now exchanged our 2003 talisman for a 2007 Ford Duetto as we think it will give us the opportunity to reduce number of vehicle's we run at the moment but still give us days out and trips away . We will have to be very minimalistic on what we carry in the new van but if there are any advice or improvements we can make it will be very appreciated.

We had a 2007 Duetto (on a MK7 Transit) and the longest trip we did was to Norway and lasted 10 weeks without any problem. Clearly what you consider minimalistic, we would seem to regard as, 'over the top'.

Perhaps the biggest single improvement we made was to sleep across the width of the van and this meant we could ditch the 3 small infill cushions (they lived in the wardrobe at home for 6 years and were never, ever used). We are 5ft 10in and 5ft 4in tall and so this may not be practical for you to try; but makes a big difference to storage in the over-cab locker if you can do it.

Other minor improvements were, to ditch the smaller table and its leg, to store the remaining leg in the over-cab locker and to cut a hole about 15 in by 18 in in the back of the toilet room wall in order to store the mains cable when not in use (invisible from outside, as the hole was below the window).

Could you post a photo of the power  cable storeing mod think that be good mod too.thank you for your info.

Sorry to say, but we no longer have the van and so no photo available. It was easy to cut, just make a hole about 15in wide by 18in tall so that the bottom of the hole is about 6in above the floor and the right hand edge about 6in from the right hand edge of the toilet room panel. There are some pipes there, but provided you are careful, there will not be any problems. I used some plastic edging strip to finish off the edges of the hole and make it look neat.

Another minor mod is to remove the plastic blanking piece on the left of the toilet room wall panel (to the left of the hole we are talking about). This blank is to allow access to change the bulbs in the rear light cluster and if it is removed, you can use the space available to store stuff such as spare bulbs, reverse polarity lead, continental 2 pin mains adapter etc.
