Well taken the plunge.......what have I done?
As some of you know, I've a Renault rcv50 which I'm bringing back to life the engine had totally seized along with the carb etc. been standing for a while. Anyway to cut a long story short, parts were expensive so decided to convert to diesel. Yes I know I'm mad but any information to help me would be appreciated....
Thanks
Paul
Will upload as much information and some pics if it helps.......

Got to say that you've set yourself up a pretty ambitious project!
One of the things I really didn't like about the original Trafic that I owned was the huge gap between two of the gears (can't remember if it was 2nd & 3rd or 3rd & 4th now) which was tedious with a petrol, but would make a diesel almost impossible to drive in any comfort on a hilly road, I would have thought. So hopefully you'll be looking to get a complete matching engine and transmission to drop in.
Problem is that all of the Renault cars and non-motorhome vans of that generation will have rusted away and been crushed years ago - when was the last time you saw a Fuego, for example?
Good luck!
[Edit: in addition to the Renault-related forums, might be worth dropping into one of the big Renault dealers and having a chat with one of the old-timer mechanics, as they may remember more about which non-Trafic models had the same engine mounts.]
