Seitz roof light / vent
Hi
The roof light / vent above the kitchen area in our 2003 Symbol has an intermittent drip / leak.
When we first bought it about 3 months ago a few drips of water appeared on top of the cooker, however, it has been fine since even after prolonged or heavy rain.
But this morning after rain in the early hours, one or two drips appeared again. This came through the inside of the vent and the roof lining around the vent remains dry.
Does anyone have a similar experience ?
As these provide permanent ventilation is it possible that rain could have entered this way ?
Thanks for your help

Re: Seitz roof light / vent
Hi there,
The top cover of our front skylight was blown off by a passing lorry and we only discovered this had happened when we saw a huge patch of water on the carpet after a severe rainfall.
I therefore presume that it is possible for the top cover of a skylight to get cracked or damaged and if this happened the water would appear as you have described; especially if the crack or damage was orientated so that it only let water in when it fell at a certain angle.
I suggest that you have a look at the top cover from the outside to check its condition.
Hope this helps.
Best regards,
