Carrying bikes using rear step Empty Carrying bikes using rear step

Hi, has anyone modified the rear step for carrying pushbikes?.
I fancy doing that instead of mounting them to the doors.
The fiamma door mount is very high and they look like they could easily twist the door...

Hi, i looked at that possibility myself, the problem is not being able to use the rear door, i thought about adapting a towbar rack but the bikes would be hanging too far back. I ended up buying a fiamma 200db second hand,it is a bit high but thats so it clears the number plate, it also Easily unhooks from the van so it wont get nicked. I have seen symphonys with just ordinary car racks on back which just hang on to both doors but need a number plate fixed to bike.

Not to worried about not having to use rear door. When we get to site we usually lock the bikes to something solid anyway.
The van we bought already has a spare plate. I was thinking of adapting a cheap 2nd hand one.
It may be more hassle than its worth thou.....
