symbol 12v electrics
when i start the van with the electrics switched on the lights switch off and have no 12v power to rear apart from the power to the fridge which comes from the battery on a different circuitĀ
is this normal?

Seems so - the heater (an Eberspacher Hydronic) was original equipment in my last A-S and that would run Ok with the engine running. The Webasto diesel heater in my current van will too.
