Electrics gone
Hi,
so here I am grateful to be in Murcia on my first trip abroad with just me and Moon with few issues - and today, when I went to a new Aire the electrics all, worked then - pop they all went off - obviously when I put something on.
They/I checked my cables etc...and their electricity is being supplied.
I have checked the 3 fuses at the side of the leisure battery but I know one is for the fridge - and the other 2 are 2 amp!
The switches have not tripped under the sink unit....so what do you think it may be.
Surely there must be fuses for all the 3 plug sockets in the van?
The aire is saying they have a man - very nice but he will of course come at a price.
Thanks for any evening help as I will be calling my man as it may be manana as it is.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Electrics gone
I am assuming you're on an electric hook-up...
In the van is a 240v consumer unit, just like you have at home but smaller.
This has a main and one or 2 other breakers on it. If they see a fault, then trip and go to the OFF position.
Go check where this is in your van and see where the switches are, usually UP for ON
Then reply to this...

I'd still be suspicious of your incoming power. The checks you have done show no onboard problems.
Is it possible to use a different EHU cable or move to another pitch?
Do you have, and know how to use a multimeter?
Do you still have anything working from the leisure battery??

I had a similar problem in France. By a process of elimination it turned out to be my hook up cable. After being rolled on to it's carrier hundreds of times, the end of the cable that was flexed most broke down internally just as it entered the plug. Shortening the cable by six inches and reattaching the plug (I also did the socket end for good measure), and all was well.

One quick test that you can do to test if mains power is reaching the power distribution board inside the van is to press the "Test" button on the main RCD/Circuit Breaker. If it trips and the switch turns itself off, you have power into the van. If it does nothing, there is no mains power at the input side to the board.
