Trident Step / Sill Protectors
Can anyone tell me if the clear plastic stick on step / sill protectors are a VW part (as I suspect?) or are these fitted by Auto-Sleepers? The reason I think they are a VW part is they are also stuck on the forward facing rear arches to protect against stone chips? I would like to replace ours and just wondered if anyone could advise?

Yes they are a VW part
I put anew one on last year when I had a little touch up job done on sill.
Got it from the local VW dealer who ordered it- Not cheap though mate!
Cheers

Thanks Stevo
What do you call not cheap Got me worried now
Only wanted to replace them as they are lifting slightly at the edges!
Don't suppose you have a part No for them do you? just makes ordering easier, if not no probs

Stevo... are you certain these are a VW part???? had VW say otherwise If you have a part number that would be an enormous help, if you've got an invoice and retained it then it should be on there? Cheers mate

Hi CC
I DEFINATELY ordered and collected it from my local VW dealers. I actually saw the drawing of it on ETKA (VAG's computerized spares system). I'm at work ATM but when I get home I'll try and find the invoice (if I've still got it)

Hi again CC
I called into my local VW dealer on the way home from work and explained that you couldn't get this part. So they looked on ETKA and the part number is 7D1854811 and it's called a Sill Panel Protective Foil.
Same part fits both sides and it costs 4.12 pounds. If you have any probs I could buy it for you up here and post it on.
Cheers

Stevo.. Just to let you know the nice man at VW got back to me today and I quoted him the part number, have a pair on order for collection Saturday, Result! Have to say thanks again for your kind offer to get them your end and post them on, not many people would be bothered going to that trouble so it's much appreciated.
Get them on over the weekend, give the old girl a good polish, got some Farecla Marine Gel Coat Restorer & Wax for the high top roof which I'm hoping will make her gleam even more than she already does
