Harmony rusty sill
I've just seen my bodyshop man to see what needs to be done to repair a short section of sill just ahead of the offside rear wheel. Although the rest of the sills seem solid he's advised to get MOT and service done (due next month) in case there's more corrosion out of sight.
He also said that in the process of repair the re-painting will lose the (14) graduated thin black stripes.
I'll have to see if there's a vehicle graphics company locally (Fareham) and get a quote.
ps my new (blind date !) travel partner has taken to the van like a duck to water !!!!

Hi Terry, if you have the patience you could cut the graduating stripes from black self adhesive pvc then spray laquer over the top.
Glad your traveling companion is having fun.

Hmm, not sure I've got the steady hand and patience !
I've found a vehicle graphics company near me so I might see what they can do.

Re: Harmony rusty sill
Boxer sills are not structural, the only reasons a rusty sill on your Boxer would fail the MOT is if it A) had jagged edges which could cause injury, or B) is within a prescribed area.
It could possibly fall into 'B' if the corrosion is near the rear spring front hanger.

That's useful to know as there's no jagged edges and it is just the outer skin that crumbled.
At least it'll be up on a ramp so if there is anything else it'll be exposed.
Cheers
Terry
ps hope you've caught some fish since we last met !
