weight of a duetto
As we are away for a fortnight I thought it would be interesting to find out how much we weighed fully loaded and ready to roll.
Complete with fuel, water two passengers and the dog and a lot of food we came in at 2920.
Giving us capacity to carry an extra 180 kilos.
Hope this helps someone.

Whats the MTPLM of a Duetto, my Symphony was only 2800kg?

Re: weight of a duetto
Sorry but the second weight shown, if that is correct, is the Maximum Gross Train Weight i.e, weight of Duetto and trailer, maximum. If your figures are correct, you are already overweight at 2920. The top figure of 2900 is the weight of the Duetto , Maximum Gross Vehicle Weight. Read this for explanation...

I stand corrected so I'll just run with a half empty water tank, but it should be made clearer.
All I have is the numbers, there are no letters showing to what they relate.

I think this is generally true for commercial vehicles - neither my previous Transit nor the current VW have anything other than the weights, except for (1) and (2) preceding the front and rear axle limits.
One thing that surprises me is the Duetto's apparently very low Train Weight of 3100 - my current T5 has a lower MTPLM (2800 instead of 2900), but the Train Weight is 5300. You won't be towing much of a trailer with a Train Weight of 3100!
Certainly I agree about the water - like others on this forum I carry a 5 litre water bottle in the van for supplies while travelling, and only fill the tank when I get on site (or in the locality if I reckon on camping wild). The value of water is too low to justify the extra cost of the fuel needed to lug it any distance.

Re: weight of a duetto
I thought the same about the train weight. Dutto tows a boat or a trailer with his Duetto. Are you sure you haven't misread it and it should be 5100kg and not 3100kg?

Re: weight of a duetto
It is correct, my Duetto is automatic and can only tow 200 Kg.
This is due to the temperature build up in the oil though. With the addition of an extra oil cooler you can get that weight back up to 2500kg.
