water heater
I drained the water system yesterday but inadvertantly left the water pump on!!! Will this have damaged the water heater as pump running with no water. Also the book talks about bypass device - where is this?

Re: water heater
The water heater won't be damaged but the pump may be, though if it's only been on for a few hours it may still be Ok. If you turn it on now with no water in it and can hear it chattering away then it probably survived. Diaphragm-type pumps (which yours almost certainly is) are not too prone to overheating and wear if run dry.
Bypass device - forget about it unless you need to use the van in very cold conditions. If you don't know where yours is then a previous owner has probably lost it.

Thanks for your reply, yes pump does "chatter" so hopefully OK.
