NUEVO Water Heater
Hello its me again:
When I select the heater, electric option and 60 degrees the water is not very hot. I would say less then 60 degrees. There is not enough in the hot water tank to have a shower. Again when I select gas and electric the water is a lot hotter but again not enough to have a shower. Any thoughts before I contact the supplier.

Re: NUEVO Water Heater
The water heater in our Nuevo heats the water really well... it would be impossible to shower or wash without adding cold water using the mixer tap as it would scold you.
The Truma Ultrastore has a 10 ltr capacity and while this isn't huge it should be enough to take a quick shower... have you tried it in two stages rinse then shut off the shower, soap or gel yourself.. shampoo your hair then switch on and rinse off again.
Also have you got an insulated jacket around the water heater?

Re: NUEVO Water Heater
Like CC our hot water is too hot to touch and the two of us can have a shower no problem. Sounds like you may have a problem with the water heater.

Water heater
Hi Skyrakes,
On our series 1 Lancashire/Neuvo the water heater actually heats the water hotter when on electric than when on gas, to such a degree that very very tiny movements of the of the tap between hot and cold are required to adjust the temprature whereas on gas slightly larger movements provide more acurate control.

Up date
Today with 'Gulliver' on level ground we filled the water tank to the max. I then set the LH switch onto 2 bars electric. I then moved the rh switch to 60 degrees. The thermostat was set on 1. 2 hrs later hot water lasted 90 secs and was not very hot. Moved the thermostat to 5. 3 hrs later the water was not as hot and lasted less than 30 secs.
I believe I have a problem.

Skyrakes,
"...I believe I have a problem..."
Nope, with this and the other thread, your dealer has a problem.

water heater heater
Hi Skyrakes,
Your dealer should have sorted this out before you got the van, its called a PDI (pre delivery inspection,) if they have done one at all they havent done it properly, maybe they thought you wouldnt want to use the shower, many people dont. At the Malvern show we were parked close to the showers and saw people waiting over 1/2 an hour to use the site showers, we used the one in the van. Suggest you take it back play and get them to do a proper PDI.

Hi there,
As a fully authorised "Water-Miser" I suspect that you are using too much water!
On "Petal" we have a simple system:
1) Rub the shampoo into your hair before you get into the shower.
2) Turn on the shower > get yourself wet > wet and soap the flannel > SHUT THE SHOWER OFF.
3) Wash yourself with the wet and soapy flannel.
4) Turn the shower on to rinse your hair and body.
5) Turn the shower off and "dry" yourself with the flannel before using a towel. (This minimises the need to dry damp towels in "Petal"!)
With practice, all this can be achieved using less than 5 litres of water per shower!
The system is explained to visitors to "Petal"; and they are encouraged to comply by me switching off the water pump if I hear it running continuously for more than about 30 seconds!
Best regards,
PS With regard to the "it ran for 90 seconds" comment almost all Shurflo pumps will deliver over 10 litres of water during that period and the "high-flow" pump will deliver up to 22.5 litres!! THE CAPACITY OF A CARVER WATER HEATER IS ONLY 9 LITRES!

Re: NUEVO Water Heater
How come 2 people can have a shower after each other when it is on gas/electric. On our caravan water heater (Cap 10 litres) we both could shower after each other when just on electric.
I dont want to be a water miser. I want to be able to shower just using electricity which I have paid for in my site fees
I still believe I have a problem

Hi there,
Thought I would revitalise the thread and ask "Did they sort the problem?" and "What was it?" so that we can all learn from your experience.
Best regards,
Ian
