Hello we pick up our new Dorset/Symbol (Marquis) early Sept and are looking to buy a driveaway awning. Can any other Symbol owner recommend an awning based on their own experience.
Many thanks

hi,
i saw tommydarcy's drive away awning recently - see their 'grand tour'  on here - they have a kampa mini pod which they very kindly sent me photos of and i also have one now - purchased on ebay £199 - i am very pleased with its good fit to my 2000 symbol.

Any chance of putting a picture up of it attached to the van please? I would be interested to see this. My symbol is 260cm from floor to fiamma awning.

When I bought my van, the previous owner supplied a Kyham Motordome 780 Plus. The poles are all built in and it can be erected by one person in about 10mins. For me the footprint was to big as it included 4 x sleeping berths,so I sold it. I probably need the Motordome 780 (no sleeping room, but you can add an internal inner tent).

The other easy to erect awning is the Vango Kela, which has an inflatable structure. Again popular and reliable.

Both of the above are £400 +. There are cheaper versions available, that other members can advise on.

Hello everyone thank you for your kind advice. We really now want the Kyham Motordome classic but all the dealers seem to be out of stock. Kyham say they are planning a relaunch of this product at the Motorhome Show in Oct. Thank you again
