trident door furniture
Hi Everyone, I recently lost one of the pushbutton door fixings on our old trident. Decided to buy a new set of five from autosleepers, super they arrived the day after. My problem is how do you remove the old collar from around the pushbutton without damaging the door! I know its a minor problem but would be grateful for any advice. andrew from dorset.

Remove the lock and pushbutton.
Use a socket(from a socket set), that fits snuggle into the hole on the inside face.
Cant quite remember the size (22mm?/19mm?)
Tap gently on the end of the socket with a hammer, whilst holding the cupboard door.
Hope that makes sense.
Regards
John

Hi Andrew,
I removed all of mine recently and I used an hacksaw blade to make a small cut into the inside of the insert and this made thenm very easy to remove. Can I ask whilst I,m here were the new replacements expensive from Autosleepers.
Hope this helps
Tony

Just checked an invoice from A/S parts from June 12, which shows £3.68 + VAT (silly money) which is for the button and surround, (doesn't even include the lock!).

When I bought some last year they were very reasonably priced. From memory a couple of quid for both the button and the collar together, thhough they can be bought individually. I've also got a receipt for a new catch assembly (without button and collar) and they were £2.50 each.
Worth getting a spare catch if you have an older van as they have a habit of failing on the first day of your holiday, which is really annoying!

Re: trident door furniture
Autosleepers were so helpful. Just had the drawer on the floor of my R reg Trident recovered as the rather nasty blue vinyl had split. Rang autosleeper not expecting to still stock the 'button' as they are now called. Two now on the way - very reasonably price plus postage.
