Side sliding door Talbot Express Harmony
The fly screen/privicy blind on my express is broken i got a new on but canot see how to remove the old with out removing the side sliding door
The waldrobe cupboard covers the back screws and with the door open there is only a 30mm gap so cant get a screw driver in even a stubby
Any one had this before or is it door off
Steve

Re: Side sliding door Talbot Express Harmony
Mine is a Peugeot Boxer Harmony, not sure if it is identical in layout but I recently took off the plastic panel that surrounds the flyscreen/blind on the sliding door.
There were a couple of small cracks appearing in the corners of the surround that I repaired from behind using 'Plastic Padding'
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Anyway, back on topic, the surround fixing screws at the rear are obstructed by the wardrobe for a normal size screwdriver to fit.
I used something very similar to one of these to access the screws.

Hope this helps.

Hi PB,
I'm not going to ask if the Plastic Padding stuck to the plastic surround OK because looking at your shower room window thread it obviously did
My Symphony side door window surround has cracked (broken even ) so I was wondering where you got the Plastic Plastic Padding from?

Halfords Frank, although not listed on their website.
After repairing behind the cracks, I used the 'famous' Captn Tolley Crack Cure on the front surface. They have almost disappeared, but then I know they are there!
When I drum up the enthusiasm I will fill them properly and respray the complete surround like I did for the bathroom.
BTW when in Halfords I also bought a sheet of steel reinforcement which I used in the repair of the bathroom window surround.
I expect you will use something similar if yours is broken?
Regards

Cheers PB
Yes! I'll get some of that what we used to call "expanding metal" to reinforce it - though they've probably got a posher name for it now?
Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure - sounds like something for a medical complaint doesn't it?

I've ordered one too! looks very handy and if it gets you out of a tight spot just once it's £2 well spent.

Tool arrived this morning, hardly "Snap-On" quality but not too bad for £2. I can think of a few jobs in the past where it would have been handy.

If 'Snap-On' sold it you would have to remortgage the house!!

A few years back, ( before I made it like Fort-Knox ) my workshop was broke into & I had loads of gear nicked along with a lot of Snap-On tools I'd acquired
over many years, I went to Halfords & they had just introduced their 'professional' range & the manager let on to me that they were made by Snap-On
for Halfords, so I bought loads.
If you look at & handle this range of tools, they certainly have the air of quality & 'feel' of snap-on, & I've given them some real 'welly' over the years &
they haven't degraded at all & still look & feel like new, a good investment & well cheaper than snap-on.

Not a lover of Halfords but the next time I'm in the market for tools, I'll have a look. I quite like the "professional" stuff sold by Machine Mart (I heard that they were made by Snap-On, but ...)
I'm getting ready for a new 1/2" ratchet, the Gedore(?) one I bought when I was 18 is past it's best now. (things just don't last)
