Warwick 2008 Drafty rear doors
Has any one had the same issue with rear doors being very drafty and cold while in bed laying across the doors. Is there any adjustments to make and or additional seals. Do we know if these doors are in fact packed with insulation or simply hollow metal? i thought of removing trim drilling small holes and filling with flexi foam would this have any implications?
Anyway probably no issues if we had decent weather eh!
Any comments welcome
Thanks

Hi Alanm
Do you have anything hung from the offside door as someone mentioned on this site that the newer Boxers don't latch that door top and bottom only in the middle and if anything is on it it causes seal problems, we don't have anything on the doors and don't have a draft problem, I know, I sleep that side.

Hi Alan,
Yep, we had this problem and I think I've solved it.
Have a look at the latest post on my blog for the story of how I acheived this:

Also on there is loads of info on mods we've made to our Warwick Duo, which we love dearly, despite its shortcomings.
By the way, we do have a bike rack on the offside door, which carries a Fiamma Ultrabox. The load in this is around 30kg (max allowed load 50kg) but, really, I find it hard to believe that this bends such a heavily constructed door, or, indeed, deforms the seals (but that's just my opinion). As you'll see in my blog, it's not really draughts (ie poor sealing) but rather cold conducted by all that exposed metalwork.
Good luck. Let me know if you need any further info on this.
Cheers
Geoff

Just had a further look and these doors do have top and bottom retaining latches so not much chance of door pulling away from seal.
thanks for thought anyway.
