Loved This Thread.
Just loved following this thread. The banter between Alf and Mike was fun glad they wound up friendly at the finish. I think they both have good info to share. Tend to go along the same lines as Squip myself, like the challenge of making things. Its not allways a cost thing.
Good thread. Thats what makes this forum great.

Whilst on the subject has anyone ever washed the gauze mesh in water? The mesh gets very dusty with use and I always use a vacuum on it but I thought it may come cleaner with a wash but I wondered whether it would shrink.

Hi Squip,
Funny you should mention that, I noticed as soon as I put the new unit up there seemed to be a lot more light coming through. I retreived the old flap from the dustbin & compared them side by side & the difference was amazing, chalk & cheese, one was white & one was brown.
I can't see any problem with shrinking, the frame is quite sturdy, dip it in warm soapy water & use a soft brush, the gauze material is poly something so should not shrink.
I shall certainly keep an eye on my flyscreen in future & keep it clean, we do a lot of cooking in the 'van but just havn't noticed the dirt before. Mike.
