high passanger seat
Hi. Just purchased a 2005 symbol es 4 berth, up dated from a 1990 rambler. the quality is brilliant and we like the layout. There is one slight problem my wifes feet will not reach the floor when sat in the passanger seat, facing follwards are facing into the van. we could get round the problem by buying a drop seat base but the cost is about £200, as anybody got any ideas besides a stool.

my wife uses the small step we have for outside the habitation door to rest her feet when travelling.
We made a small slip on cushion it to improve comfort!

Our main hook up cable is on a reel and makes the perfect footrest when travelling.

Hi Alan, Welcome to the forum from another Prestonian,
Easiest, cheapest way is to make a small footrest out of a piece of ply and a couple of bits of 2"x2". (Savoy, Fylde road) and stick a bit of carpet tile on the top. A couple of strips of velcro on the bottom will stop it from moving.

My Wife has the same problem in our Lancashire, mind you, she would in a mini as well.
We were looking in a charity shop and found an adjustable footrest that Secretary or typist would use in an office, it is height adjustable and the foot pad moves back and forth, i guess that somewhere like Staples would sell them.

Have you thought of trading in for a taller wife?

We bought a shorter base replacement for our 02 Peugeot based Pollensa passenger seat but took it out again after a few weeks and refitted the original as it was too low for me and Mrs B now does most of the driving anyway.
If you're interested, could let you have it for rather less than £200 . . .

Re: high passanger seat
You could try putting some old carpet pieces under the existing carpet to pack it up a little. I did this on my Hymer and again on the Lancashire. Just gives about 1cm which was enough for my wife's comfort.
There was an article in MMM some years ago for a small box which could hold slippers and served the same purpose.
