decals on high top
Hello all
quite a while since I posted anything on here, I am trying to find some way of cleaning/replacing the decal stripes on the high top front of my Autosleeper Trophy they have weathered badly, and I wondered if any one had found a way of cleaning them or a cheaper way of replacing them, I have sent an email to Autosleeper but don't really think they will be able to help due to age of camper (1994), I would like to clean them up as they spoil the look of the rest of the van any one got an answer to this little problem,
thanks
mike

Mike
Many threads on here regarding replacing the decals.
If you do a search you should find them.
AS do not stock them any more.
Best bet would be a graphics company local to you. They should be able to reproduce the ones you want to replace.
However, by all accounts they are a b....r to remove!

Are the decals damaged? On my symphony they are starting to look a bit untidy but it's the laquer which is sprayed over them which is flaking off, I will be attempting to scrape off the remainder then respraying with laquer as soon as the weather warms up.

HI Dave
no they don't appear to be damaged, they look as if something has been spilt on them and left to dry tried to clean but no luck, any suggestions as to what will remove the laquer

I just used a hard rubber squeegee and quite a bit came off,I think the rest will need carefully scraping with a blade,a bit awkward to get to tho'.

Decals
Our top decal on our Duetto (Dougal) has gone very strange it happened after heavey snow was left on it a couple of years ago, just wondering now if it is the lacquer that has come off and maybe it could be re-lacquered ?

Hi paulwest55
yes looks like mine does only not as bad, I have tried cleaning it with no success, not too sure if its laquer coming off either, may have a go at replacing it with some outdoor vinyl which apparantly can last several years, cutting a replacement could be difficult as the decal bends both verticaly and horizontaly
