Fibreglass roof protective polish.....which?
Has anyone had their roof cleaned and polished (Duetto)? If so what did you use?
I saw a thread some time back about this and there are a variety of polishes on the market to refurbish that 'flat matt' fibreglass roof and not only bring it back to 'looking like new', but also protect it. Cleaning the van from the roof down is not a problem for me, but I neither have the facilities (or inclination!) to do the roof myself so would be looking for a place to do that part.

Farecla marine gel coat restorer and wax is the product I always recommend, but Meguiars also do a good range of marine polishes well worth looking at here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] always use the mildest less abrasive polish you can to do the job. Either of these products can be applied by hand, use microfibre cloths or sponge applicators to apply and plenty of clean good quality microfibres cloths to buff off and finish.
A proper valeter should use either a DA or rotary polisher rather than do the job by hand... You can get a decent DA polisher quite cheaply for around £100 and they are well worth it... I got a DoDo Juice Buff Daddy DA polisher at christmas and it's a really decent bit of kit, the foam finishing pads are not cheap but for the cost of paying someone else you can put together a polisher, pads, cutting compounds and polishes for less than a valeter would charge to clean your van anyway....
A Google search should throw up valeters in your area if you are unable to do the job yourself.

It's been said before, but that is a seriously wrong product name!

BIB is the name which i'd seen before, searched eBay, found some.....then went and lost it so forgot the damn name! Any idea how much you need to 'do' a Duetto top (roof and roof sides)? I'm tempted to try phoning round a few local Valeters to get some prices to just do the roof and see what they come up with. I'm past clambering up ladders and wouldn't trust myself now anyway and to do the roof properly would need specialist equipment....it can hardly be compared with polishing a car roof for example!

Maybe a local bodyshop could do your roof if you have one in your locality. worth asking as they would have all the necessary equipment around 2/3 hours in labour at a guess.

Certainly worthwhile asking as i'm having some paintwork 'sorted' by a local bodyworker....if and when the damn weather improves! Not a big job but he's one of those 'rare finds' when it comes to bodywork...his work is top notch and someone i'd never hesitate to recommend.
