Thanks for the advice, the cassette will last a little longer (we all know what will happen now I've said that!) however, did take the pump out and there are three plastic clips, one had broken so the water was going back in to the system, luckily it was the front clip that broke as it's the only one with little holes behind it in to which a small cable tie was inserted and proved most effective.
