Cassette Toilet
Hi,We are prepareing for our first trip in our A/S and getting the toilet ready following the manual filled with the two fluids and filling the water tank, there is a clear tube on the right hand side that shows the water level(no mention of this in the manual) i have filled it to
half way up the pipe.
When i operate the blue flush button no water flushes the loo.
Where am i going wrong.

Are lights and water pump working? Only asking to see if you have 12v supply on.

Re: Cassette Toilet
You might have an air lock. Have you run the rest of the taps- including the shower one- until water runs out of them freely without coughing and spitting ? If not, do this and then try again.

Doh ! Scrap above ! I'm thinking of our old van which took the water from the main tank for flushing the loo.
Sorry.....

Could be the fuse? I'm guessing that your toilet is a Thetford, if you know what model it is, you should find a manual for it here:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
which will give you the location of the parts etc.. and perhaps a fault finding guide.

I have found 2 fuses, one in the controll panel and one in the cassette housing and both are ok.
As i have only just bought the A/S(less than a week) i have spoke to the Garage and complained that it should have been checked before i received it,it's the second thing i have found that should have been checked.

I fully agree with you there, and they'll have the cheek to say it has been PDI'drich g wrote:

Re: Cassette Toilet
hi,
when my van was delivered after a full pdi the first thing I noticed was they had forgotten to reconnect the plug to the nearside headlamp, I then noticed that items left by the previous owner had been removed.
good in it,
Chris

Re: Cassette Toilet
Hi Rich G
I had a similar problem but my fault was down to the van being second hand and having stood for a while, I'm unsure whether your van is brand new or not, the problem I had was the water in the flush tank had evaporated over time and left a residue of the pink stuff on the pump impellor and jammed it, I removed the pump, eased the impeller to turn stuck it in a plastic coke bottle with the top cut off obviously, put some water in there with it and ran it (make sure you cover the top of the bottle as it could make quite a mess), all ran ok, stuck it back in the tank I have never used the pink stuff and never had another problem with it.
I hope this is some help
Neil

I have only had the van for 2wks so i took it back to the dealer, and it was the same problem as you had,so it's all fixed and ready for our trip next week, only this time with a flushing loo.
Cheers

Re: Cassette Toilet
The flush on my Warwick Duo has also packed in. I think it is probably the pink has given me the same problem. I tried to remove the pump: took the push button assembly off, removed the dish underneath and then tried to remove the pump. It rattles around when I gently pull on the cable but I cannot see how to remove it.
The toilet is a Thetford 400 series bench toilet.
Any ideas please?

Find the members' fact sheet section on this forum. There's a Thetford Sanitation link listed - try that. That's how we managed to repair our loo!

Re: Cassette Toilet
Thanks for the information. I tried it, gently pulling on the cable to the pump but it will not move. I will have another try tomorrow.Nain wrote:Find the members' fact sheet section on this forum. There's a Thetford Sanitation link listed - try that. That's how we managed to repair our loo!
