Outside seatstorage
We use the sort that fold up to go into a bag about the diameter of a flagpole rather than the flat ones, these will fit comfortably under the bench seat, as we dont have a bike rack or ladder.

Re: Out side seats storage
We have been loyal to our chairs as they have to us, they have seen a lot of action over the 10 years or so we have had them, been on the tow path when we lived on narrowboats, will only give them up if they ever break and there is no sign of that happening...................

ours go in the clothes cupboard, which has the added benefit of reducing the extra clothes we never use.Have tried the toilet area as well.

Never. If i could not carry what i want on the van i would get a larger one.
However i have many many years travelling two up on a bike camping,so can keep it down to essentials.Remember your scouting days, two piles after your trip .??
I have travelled over 3000 miles in a car with 2+2 occupants for 4 weeks with only the spare wheel on the roof.
Those were the days. A Symphony is a real luxury.
regards
Mike

In the semi-folded overcab bed. Along with the inside table, outside fold up table, gas barbecue, windbreaks, sun lounger, walkstools, some of the bedding, & probably some other stuff I can't think of off the top of my head

Mike,
So would I if there wasn't a covenant in the deeds of our house that limits the size and positioning of vehicles parked in and around the houses. (Quite rightly I might add as it is there to stop anyone parking a 3-ton lorry out in the street or using their front garden as a scrap-yard!)
"Petal" just fits on the drive and anything bigger just wouldn't leave room to do anything around the house; also, do you go away for up to six months at a time to live in yours?
If we are away for a week or even up to a month we don't bother with the trailer but when we go away for longer periods we like the little luxuries such as a twin-tub washing machine, body-board, snorkelling gear, wind-breaks, outside cooker etc and you won't pack that lot into any motorhome smaller than a "tennis court on four wheels"!
"Different strokes." as they say!
Best regards and
Ian
PS I was a Scout for about five years (St Clement's Skegness Troop) and loved every minute of it; even the nights spent shivering under a single old Army blanket! I remember starting a camp on Boxing Day 1958 with a fellow Scout. We had to sweep the snow away before pitching the tent and then pack more around the edges to stop it blowing in!
On that occasion my Mum released a second blanket from the cupboard!
Happy days!
Ian

Outside seats
First off A Big Happy New Year to everyone! Thanks for all the feed back, we have been busy planing our first trip for 2013 and the implications of where to put the outside seats has been an issue. Things like do we take them or not but if we don't then we are bound to get good weather and regret not taking them, we would not want to upgrade to a bigger van as we have only just got this one and just love it's size. The Mrs has seen in Practicle motorhome feb issue a shire van with the chairs stowed on the back of each rear door, can't see how you can do that in a Duetto but if any one has done it, then I would love to hear how you did it, I told her I'm not drilling holes in my van unless I know it will work lol, we'll just have to leave her seat at home lol.

That's the spirit!
Show her who's the Boss around here!
Leave her chair at home so that you can sit on the damp grass when the sun shines!
Alternatively get the drill out and ............
Best regards and
Ian

Seriously, we have the canvas ones that fold down and fit into a small bag. Mine is a "Royal", apparently good for up to 130kgs and quite bulky.
If your van is the same as the one with a bike-rack in your Avatar then one real option would be to get very lightweight bikes and chairs and then lash the chairs to the bikes with bungy cords.
Helen (who is sat alongside as I type) says "It's not really a problem. When they are in their covers it's just a matter of chucking them into the front when we stop for a break; and remembering that they are underneath the van before we leave after an overnight stop."
There! Sorted!
Best regards,
Ian

The link took me to a general C&CC sales page- this was on it at the time:

£280 for an LED camping light!!!!! When I started camping we had two candles between two ten-shilling ex-US Army bivvi tents! Someone has lost the plot.
When we recently bought our Topaz I could not see see any possibility of storing the chairs we already had so bought a pair of Gelert ally chairs:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
These, along with one of their roll-up tables AND a drive-away awning seem to take up not too much space in the waterproof "wardrobe" in the Topaz washroom. They do not seem to interfere with the hanging-rail space.
Of course we have not actually used our van yet and I'm still figuring out where to store all those bits and pieces (the previous owner seems not to have discovered the large space under the swivel passenger seat)! Amazing what can go in there.
Back in the 80s (pre-kids) we went thro' the same exercise with an Auto-cruise Diamond RV, a sort of Topaz on the T3 brickie (stupidly-expensive, hi-top small van, two berth, shower, heating etc.). We managed to criss-cross Europe for up to 5 weeks at a time (Mrs T was until recently a teacher) in a limited space, so hopefully we can repeat the process at a more leisurely pace. Oops.. thread drift syndrome. Apologies.
Cheers,
Pete.

Pete,
but couldn't resist!
What a show off you are! TWO!
As you know, they had an almost open end which is why you were supposed to have two of them so that they could button together; but my Mum only bought one!
No-one was brave enough to tell her she had made a mistake so for about five years we (Dad, Mum, brother and self) slept in it and just made sure that we pitched it with the open end up against a hedge or something similar!
Happy days; but we had a few wet feet over the years!
Ian
PS Just saw the £280 LED light!! Maybe you would get more light out of 70 of these for the same price!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
PPS This is the "Royal" that we tote round for my excessive weight. Heavy, cumbersome but very comfortable.

We didn't get it from this supplier, even though I admire their honesty! Check out:
o Price £55.31
o Recommended Retail Price £40.03.

Oops sorry about that, bookmarked the page a while ago............there was definitely a chair bag when I saved it, should have blooming bought it then as I could really do with one to save messing with the tarp

We put our 2 chairs behind the drivers seat on our Duetto and on arrival on site if inclement weather they go on the deck under the van.

Isn't lafuma stuffing frowned upon these days? Almost everything else is.

In order to avoid unnecessary suffering, my lafumas are bagged before stuffing in accordance with EU health and safety guidelines !

in bed :-)
Im not sure whether your van has the over cab bed but i have never used it as a bed and taken the extra boards out which gives me plenty of space for the sleeping bag, memory foam matress pad and the 2 LARGE lounger chairs (I slide em in lengthways) and then use a bunge cord from the strap that holds the flap on the bed (hooked through the hole) round the chair frames and then hooked onto the hinge under the bed flap. No movement and they out the way. that way even for a day trip if the wether is nice we can sit out
