Pop Top Roof Hammock Beds
Hi All,
I'm new here so hopefully I've put this in the right forum. I have just purchased my first camper.
It's a Renault Trafic Auto-Sleeper Rimini with a pop top roof. Unfortunately it is missing the 2 roof hammock beds.
From when I was looking to purchase a van, the pop top roofs on all the Renaults, Talbots and even the Ford Transits looked to be the same.
Can anyone tell me if this is true and therefore the hammocks will fit from any of the pop top campers.
Does anybody have or know where I might be able to get a couple of these.
I'm hoping not to have to pay out too much as I didn't factor them in during negotiating!
Does anybody have an educated guestimate of what I might have to pay for these?
All assitance gratefully received

Janine - I think you have 2 maybe 3 options.
First tape measure and see how long the pole supports in your van should be.
Option 1. Get in some other pop-top vans and measure them - if the same size start hunting ebay and breakers for vans being broken.
I assume the lugs for the poles are still in place - if so why not get some poles and some canvas and make new bunks.

Re: Pop Top Roof Hammock Beds
Agreed - if the brackets are there then it's probably going to be easier to have them made up.
Are you sure you have enough brackets for two, though? I recall we had one on an AS Comma-based pop-top (and brackets for one on our Mk2 Transit that were never used) but I didn't think there was enough width to fit two and still get into the roof between them...
