Question about Autosleeper Duetto heater
In our recently acquired Duetto the heater vents at floor level near the cooker which is fine.
What I was wondering about though was these two vents on the other side of the van
That aren't connected to anything
But there are these blocked holes in the wardrobe floor/ gas locker
and these two hoses
Now I realise that the hoses could be part of the ventilation for the gas locker but given the evidence I was wondering if they ( or something else) should be connected to the high level vent holes.

Re: Question about Heater
Looks a bit weird.
I have the same two black pipes in the gas locker so I think that’s probably standard, but none of the other holes or the vents in the side of the wardrobe. I can’t think what would have been fitted there. The ex-hole in the wardrobe floor does look suspiciously gas pipe sized. I’m no expert on gas but it’s my understanding that the gas locker should be sealed from the habitation area so I wouldn’t expect any extraneous holes.
Did you get the Duetto from a dealer? I’m wondering if there was some DIY bodge that the dealer has removed.
Brod.

Duetto heater
It looks like a previous keeper has had a go a trying to set a modified heating system. The whole thing looks extremely strange and pointless

GAS LOCKER PIPES AND HOLES!
Hi there,
The black pipes to the top and the holes in the floor of the gas locker are deliberate! DO NOT CHANGE!!
Butane and Propane are both heavier than air. By having the black pipes reaching up to the top of the locker and the holes in the bottom of the locker a gas leak is encouraged to "fall" out of the bottom of the locker before it permeates into the rest of the van.
To give an indication of how fast a gas can dissipate in still air all you have to do is fart!! It travels at about 0.5 metres per second!! The arrangement in the locker is designed to cope with this.
Best regards,

Thanx for that dutto, swat I thought.
Still begs the question of what the holes are for.

Nothing!
There should not be any vents there at all. Go to any local Dealer who has a Duetto in and look.

Sorry, forgot to mention those!
The only thing I can think of is that they were installed for a portable air-conditioning unit or a de-humidifier.
Either way, it's good to see that the integrity of the gas locker was reinstated before it was sold!
Best regards,
Ian
