vrh,
Do you mean that you cannot turn the lock or, more likely, that one of the push button latches will not disengage?

vrh,
I thought as much.
I have no experience of the door sticking and the only thing I can suggest it to push the door hard inwards as you press the button. But I expect you have tried that already.
I shall have a look at my catches tomorrow to see if any solution suggests itself.

vrh,
I have been outside and had a look at the open door to my toilet compartment.
I cannot see that it would be possible to slide something into the door opening to release the catch.
The push button seems to operate the catch positively, which is to say that when the button is pressed it moves the catch rather than simply allowing the catch to retract under its own spring pressure. So maybe a very hard knock on the catch whilst pressing the door inwards may release it.
Another suggestion is to phone around caravan dealer's workshops to ask if they have experience of the problem and if so how they dealt with it.
If all else fails and it comes to getting physical with the door then it looks to me as if the best way would be to cut through the hinge pins. A sharp Stanley knife of junior hacksaw blade could probably be inserted between the door and the frame at the hinge. The hinge pin appears to be made of plastic.
I hope that you are at home with your van and not away somewhere whilst you have this problem. If you are away it could be a real show stopper!!!

Thanks, I will try what you have mentioned failing that will have to call the" mobile caravan repair people" . Luckily we were at home, when this happened, will let you know how we got on.

please do let us know the outcome. This could happen to any of us and if we were away in the van it could be a disaster. If there is a magic solution then it is something we should all learn.

Hello all
Had the hatch door repaired on Sunday, the door had to be opened by taking off the hinges and apparently the spring which connects to the button which is pressed for opening, had become dislodged, and also a few screws were missing. The caravan repairman fitted it all back in place and its now working, and he didn't even charge us for doing it as he has done work for us in the past.
So if anyone is visiting Kent / South East London area and have any problems/need any repairs, I would be more than happy to provide the phone number for this "repairman"

You said that the door was opened by taking off the hinges. I would like to know how that was done please.
I guess I'm a bit paranoid about being unable to open the toilet access door on my van.

Hatch Door
Hello Squip
Sorry for the delay in replying, but had a very stressful time at work over the last month. Re: opening the hatch door, he used a hammer and gently tapped the bottom of the hinge, a pliers was then used to pull of the top of the hinge - which looked like a large rawl plug, from doing this, he was then able to open the door.
