Symbol microwave Empty Symbol microwave

In June 12 we purchased a demo Symbol which was six months old. When we took it home we noticed a big blob of glue on the shelf of the microwave. We reported this to Marquis who said they would look at it on the vans habitation check booked for October. Our first major outing in the van was to France when we began to notice that the shelf supporting the microwave was coming apart, our concern being that the weight of it would eventually cause the shelf to collapse completely, which it didn't!
The problem was rectified by Marquis by inserting brackets to the shelf. However as we do not use a microwave thought we might have it removed and the space used to better advantage, for dishes ect. However Marquis told us that, after enquiries to Auto Sleeper, it was not possible to buy the doors that would be needed to match the others in the van.Marquis did say that they could order bespoke doors to be made but the cost of which would be prohibitive.
Has anyone else thought of removing the microwave and it does seem strange that Auto Sleeper cannot supply the doors. Has any one any ideas.
Thanks for reading this and would appreciate your thoughts/ideas

As I understand it (and I'm happy to be corrected!) AS buy in the interior furniture units complete from one or more other companies, so it's not just a matter of them knocking together a spare door or two.

Quite why the cost would be prohibitive for AS to specify to that company what would be needed in the way of extra doors I don't know, but perhaps those other companies are not interested in small jobs - just complete interiors?

It might however be worth contacting AS directly. Although Marquis are part of the same company, the answer you're getting may be more influenced by the person at Marquis not wanting to be @rsed with the paperwork than anything else!
