Trooper Inter-Power Battery Charger question
Hello,
Hello all, I have a very newbie question. I have a T4 Trooper circa 2000 and I'm just getting around to using it in earnest.
Underneath the cupboard to the right of the sink is a Inter-Power Battery Charger. The on/off switch is accessible by a flap but you have to take the cupboard floor off to access the battery itself. Please see link to a pic below.
My question is, does this unit charge the leisure battery (housed under the bonnet) when connected via hook up? and should I leave it switched on (its currently off). There are no instructions with the van so I just need to know what this unit is for.
Also, does the Trooper charge the leisure battery whilst driving?

Re: Trooper Inter-Power Battery Charger question
When I owned a van of similar age (actually a Flair, based on a Transit, but similar on the habitation side) I never turned the built-in charger off. As soon as the EHU is plugged in it powers up the charger and starts charging the leisure battery.
Yes, a Trooper of that age would definitely have a split charge relay which should charge the leisure battery while the engine is running.
