My newly aquired Duetto
Some amazing news.
Following a telephone call this afternoon, Tim the campervan engineer came round to inspect and educate me on the workings of my Duetto.
After not finding the connections for the leisure battery, we used the mains hookup to check the appliances.
I can scarcely believe it, everything works. The water pump and boiler, interior heating, cooker, grill and oven although the over burner needs cleaning, gas and electric powered fridge, hot and cold water taps in the sink, shower and basin, all of the lights except the bathroom.
Two problems. The gas rubber gas pipes and regulators need replacing. They are out of date. Furthermore, either the shower or basin leak. Tim is going to repair or replace what's necessary, pressure and leak check the gas system and then issue a habitation certificate.
The open road awaits.

One of the great things about the older conversions: simplicity! And (dare I say it) better quality materials, though at a slight weight penalty. Should be out and about in a few days...

Happy travels in your new van!
As Roopert has said, older doesn't mean inferior, look at the build quality of some new vans and it is frankly shocking and that goes for all makes. Your Duetto is made of solid stuff not origami. Enjoy

Go to members factsheets
Find Executive a new project
That'll help
Older vans are infinitely simpler. Therefore more reliable. And not stuffed with complex Greeniot crap.
Simplicity and minimalism!!!
Enjoy it. We do!!!

Great to hear your Duetto is nearing your first adventure. Not wanting to cast doom but sorting leaks in youre bathroom is a must.
That part the floor is above the n/s rear spring mounting and could become an MOT failure and an awkward repair. Not all Duetto vans are rust buckets but I became an expert in were to find rust.
